well, the first official event of the 2015 Assault has been done and dusted.

All Assault attendees (+1) who are currently in Mildura, attended the Workers club for an evening of introductions, laughter, drinks, regaling of previous assaults, and finished with great expectations that this Assault has all the makings of another memorable event.

First appointment of the Assault was to identify a tax man (collector of a gold coin donation - $2 minimum ;) ) each day from all participants. Proceedings got underway with our new appointee (Laurie - HELIXXX), who collected donations from all in attendance this evening (including Lassie - who was in town to deal with some personal business).

As a reminder, all tax proceeds, and the proceeds (after costs) of club merchandise all go towards funding the forum costs.

so.....we have all retired to our respective abodes, with the intial roll-call of names/bikes occurring at the "Shrine of the Clown" - Deakin Avenue at 0900hrs tomorrow morning (aka McDonalds).

Let's hope the weather gods are favourable.

As Steve has eluded to - dinner, making new and renewing old aquaintances on the eve of the 4th Assault went well and tomorrow brings new roads and new adventures.
Hope fully the weather will ease a tad and looking up at the night sky bodes well - stars are out so tomorrow may well be a bottler. Hearing menacing reports of snow in the higher regions where we are heading on day 2,3 & 4 though...

Nothing this band of intrepid travellers can't take in their stride.. :?

Hi guys,

Trying to work out where to meet up with the group tomorrow.
Approximately what time do you think you will be at Milawa or Bright?

Made it to Rochy, just.
A big day for me, loosing the group and fighting the wind and rain, the wind was the worst.

A good crew !!!

Bad news for me. I've just been called up by work and my trip is off. :(
Seems our Thailand associates have managed to completely screw up their manufacturing IT system. :x
So I'll be fixing that tomorrow instead. I'm not sure if I can get it all done in 1 day though.
Work will pay the cancellation fee for my accommodation at Omeo.

I'll try and catch the group somewhere else, maybe Ocean Grove on the weekend.

Tipping into a long sweeper , 4 or 5 red FJR tail lights in front and lots of double headlights glinting in the rear view mirrors . Grey clouds over head and wet roads under my wheels then through my earmolds the song called Riders on the storm . Right song right time how good was that.

Laurie (HELIXXX) will have to try hard to beat the style of the Tax Man from the WA Assault and his chicken hat.
What do you recon Mike?
