 Seat Upgrade
I finally got sick and tired of aching ass after a four or five hours in the saddle. Went for a ride to Brisbane today to see John Moorhouse for a rider seat rebuild. Here is his website http://homepage.powerup.com.au/~maddoggy/He took a couple of photos, squatted down beside me and said, no wonder you get a sore ass. He came up with a fix immediately. The seat will be couriered to him Monday (going riding Sunday) and will be ready to pick up Thursday. He looked at my fat (read ageing) ass, said it need widening ( the seat you idiots not my ass, it is too wide already ) and also reshaping front to rear ( again the seat ). As he said all the pressure is on an area less than 5cm wide across the seat. No wonder my butt hurts. Offers a cast iron guarantee and damn cheap IMHO.

 Re: Seat Upgrade
Brian, Normal price for rider only is $280. However with Ulysses discount he also re-covers the pillion seat at no charge. Normal turn-around is a couple of days. festar wrote: How much Dennis?

 Re: Seat Upgrade
Ron,
I took a day trip to Newcastle and return via Gloucester with a few mates.
I have to say I wasnt realy thinking of the seat until halfway home in the afternoon. I had no real reason to think of it because my bum wasnt sore. after that I thought about it for a second to conclude that the seat is amazing, after 4 or 5 hours in the saddle I would surely notice some soreness with the original seat. My verdict:
worth the dollars for sure. cheers

 Re: Seat Upgrade
Still to give it a proper workout. Spent about 3 hours on the bike on Saturday. It felt really good, hovever John advised it will need around 1000km to break it in. I am leaving on the Adventure Before Dementia ride on Friday down via Urunga to Nabiac Saturday then Sunday the long way to Glen Innes before getting home Monday. Wash the gear then back on the bike to go to Sydney on Tuesday for a meeting Wednesday and Thursday then home Friday. I will give my proper verdict after that, but so far very happy.
John has done an excellent job of cover, no seams anywhere near where you sit.

 Re: Seat Upgrade
Just back from the trip to Nabiac I had with the a few guys on our anuual Adventure before Dementia Ride. The seat was fabulous. Not the slightest pressure point to be felt but the ride this year was only short days with the longest being just a tad uner 500k, so not really a full test yet. Leaving Warwick tomorrow for Sydney. will go down through Woodenbong to Kyogle then down the Pacific Highway, because it is damn freezing down the New England at the moment. Yesterday was absolutely dreadful, cold, wet and blowing a howling gale. Will see how a seven or eight hour or so session feels and report after I get back home on the weekend, but so far so good.
