I told ya's I was going to do W.A. again

Postby GregW » Sat Sep 16, 2017 4:51 pm

In March of this year I decided because I missed nearly all of the 2017 assault I was going to do W.A. again. Well, I have started this, yesterday Ormiston to Gilgandra and today Gilgandra to Broken Hill. My intention is to go right round Oz but will see how I'm fairing when I get to W.A. Tomorrow I'm in Streaky Bay, stayed here on the way over and back on the 2013 assault.......great food and great accommodation
Did I ever mention that I got best bike on that assault?

Thanks Blue, have been in the "No Network" zone for last couple days and it is off and on here too. I made it to Norsemen today and tomorrow I am off to Hyden to have a lookysee at the wave rock for 2 days. Have no definite plans after that........you wouldn't have Mikey's address please? Or should I just drop into Capel tavern

The Capel Tavern would be a good bet.
I am not sure of his new address in town but I know it is not far from the tavern. I will call him and text you the address if I can get him to answer, it sometimes takes me a couple of days to get through to him.

Well after spending 3 miserably days in Albany ( thanks W.A. members)Iam on the road again
I spent 1 night at Mikeys place on Tuesday at Capel, Wednesday at Mt. Magnet, , Newman on Thursay, Friday at Eighty Mile Beah, Saturday at Fitroy Crosssing (which I shall never ever do again) and on Sunday I arrived in Kununurra for 3 days of R& R and leave tomorrow on to Katherine.
After the miserable weather in Albany it is good to get some warm weather even if it is 35C. to 40C.
Was good to see Mikey again, we talked about all fun we had on the Tasmaian assault and of course the highlights of the best assault (IMHO) the W.A. assualt in 2013. Will try to update more info when I am in coverage. In Brisbane I don't eat steak, but here in W.A. the 4 steaks I have eaten over the last 2 weeks are melt in your mouth steak. Enjoy

Well the time has come to end my trip.
Tomorrow I will be home after 24 days of touring with 4 of those days R & R.I will have clocked up well over 12000k's by the time I get home. Now I will mention the bike, I stand in awe of this machine there were days of riding in 35c to 40c , some 750k's days and the bike never gave a hint of any trouble it just lapped it up, tyres, well that,s a different story I put on a new Pr2 on the front before I left and a new Angel Gt in Albany and now they are both shot
Would I do it again?, Nope but glad to cross it off my bucket list.
