Ignition buzzing but no turnover - Serviced 7/10/2017

Hi all,

Picked my bike up this morning after a 30k service, rode it home no problems, went to start it a couple of hours later, the dash lights up, but when I hit the ignition button, there's a loud buzzing, the dash turs off & restarts but the starter motor won't kick over.

What are your thoughts?

Flat battery?
Loose connection?
Something worse?

Any help?

You nailed it, flat battery or a loose battery terminal.

Did the clock reset ?
What year is the bike, original battery. ?

Normally you get relay chatter, the starter relay in the dash having a hard time.

If ya can check voltages with a meter to confirm. Fairly cheap from Supercrap but worth it.

Is that the first service at 30k for a new bike or what?
A volt meter may tell you nothing if the battery has failed just right. I had one with an intermittent cell it would pass all the tests then die as I rode along, it took vibrations to cause it to fail.
A proper load test should tell you if it has bought the farm or just needs a charge.
Or it could be a short in the wiring or loose terminal.
